About Us
From the age of 2 until 13 our founder, Matt Alexander M.S CCC-SLP, was in speech therapy due to a severe articulation impairment. When he finally “graduated from speech therapy" he looked at his speech therapist and said, “Thank you for helping me. Some day I want to do for others what you did for me. I want to help them so they don’t have to deal with the frustration of not being understood. I want to be a speech therapist”. Since that time Matt received his bachelor’s degree in communication disorders and a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2010. While going through grad school Matt learned that he had a passion for working with multiple communication disorder types, including articulation, phonological, expressive/receptive language, social/pragmatics, and autism. That passion has only grown over the years. From 2010-2021, with the exception of 1 year working in nursing homes, Matt worked in the public school system within the Houston area. In the spring of 2021, Matt formed his small private practice in order to have a greater impact on his clients and their families by providing intensive individual speech and language therapy.
In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and son playing board games, videogames, and generally finding anything where they can spend quality time laughing and loving life. Matt's favorite saying is "Find a need. Fill a need." (a line from the movie Robots) With this saying on his heart Matt has been very involved with his church's ministries as well as the foster care community in the Houston area. As a former foster, and now adoptive, parent Matt understands all too well that everyone has a story and needs help at times.
